Something to think about... heh...
Why Why Why??!!
why the sun lightens our hair, but darkens our skin?
why women can't put on mascara with their mouth closed?
why there's no headline that reads "Psychic Wins Lottery?"
why "abbreviated" is such a long word!?
why doctors call what they do "practice?"
why you have to click on "Start" to stop Windows 98?
why lemon juice is made with artificial flavor, while dishwashing
liquid is made with real lemons?
why the man who invests all your money is called a broker?
why there isn't mouse-flavored cat food?
who tastes dog food when it has a "new & improved" flavor?
why Noah didn't swat those two mosquitoes?
why they sterilize the needle for lethal injections?
why they don't make the whole plane out of the material used for
the indestructible black box?
why sheep don't shrink when it rains?
why they are called apartments when they are all stuck together?
if con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of
progress?
why they call the airport "the terminal" if flying is so safe?

I wonder at myself on why am i not sleeping, while in about eight hours time i'm gonna have my lecture on computing... haiz, i just can't get myself to sleep, just don't have the tired mind to concuss...
im using this chance to blog now, cuz in the next few weeks or so, i might not have such a chance anymore... tutorials start next week and i guess i will have lotsa stuff to catch up too, i might not have too much of a problem with maths or physics, but with chemistry and computing, i can't say so... firstly i didn't take chem when i was in sec 3 and 4, let alone JC... i think ima flunk that subject real bad man. As for computing, maybe interest might drive me further... ha... always tot of learning how to program and stuff...
Some of my frens have already met their tutorial groups, when i ask how's their class, their faces changed kinda dull... yea i guessed it must be the lack of eye candy in their group... single horny guys out of NS, hoping for a chance to know more girls and hopefully get attached, but all they get is guys and more guys and girls who can't really make the cut. I've been trying to find some who actually is watchable, to put it in another way, pleasant looking, and so far the results have been dismal. Not that i'm surprised at all man.
Hopefully my tutorial group would give me a surprise... oh well, im still not the very least tired. I'm still wondering how the heck i would wake up at 7 am later, leave house my 8 am and reach NTU by 930 am. Somehow or rather, i regretted not staying in hall... cuz i realised the convenience of it all, but i can actually stay over at this flat at boon lay which is owned by my aunt... sparsely furnished but definitely stayable... 5 mins walk to the interchange some more. I'm seriously considering this option, provided some stuff is settled, heard from my mum that the flat's gonna be sold or something... but even if i stay there i still lack a computer, sure, i can get a lap top but an internet connection still lacking... hmm can't live without the net for a day man...
Life in uni is supposed to be interesting, and i should consider myself lucky to be actually studying for a degree... 4 years... it always seems long at first but after everything passes, one would always feel it is but a fleeting moment that passed... it always is...

hi peepz....... haven heard from me for a week or more now rite? heehee
The previous week have been bumming around, shopping around town and slacking here and there... went doub O last friday for 1 last clubbing session before i actually start school ( which haf started btw haiz ), it was a NTU bash i think, cuz the deejay mentioned NTU... but i guess it might have been organised by some engineering fac, cuz i didnt see many pretty or cute faces around... haiz...
Went to heng swee's birthday party on saturday at his house, his parents whipped up a nice mini buffet dinner for all his frens... the food's good! yum! We got him a Man United jersey... hmm hope he likes it! ( duhz, Man U fan won't like their jersey ? ha )
Wenna play soccer near boon keng's house on sunday... dug out a pair of old soccer boots to play, not less then 15 min later the boots opened their mouths at the sides... suckz man, both boots some more, haiz, anywayz our team lost 4-2 to boon's team... not surprising when they have a coach to lead them and train them...
MONday! first day of school!! but wasn't really anticipating anythingz, it's juz a freshmen welcome ceremony of some sortz, it was held at their auditorium... had to say some oath in a grad gown... lol... Had a tea reception held outside the audi... looked around while i queued... no pretty girls in sight... haiz... engineering... what can i expect haha.
2nd day of school, went sch earlier to collect my notes but fuck, they got sold out and i had to order, can only collect it on friday or next monday... haiz... went their popular bookstore to get a calculator and found out that there are some books i had to get, they were sold out also... fuck... kiasu students out there man... ha... later which i got lost finding my lecture theatre which i my first maths lecture... went in sweaty...
basically school's still not as interesting now, still a lost sheep in a large farm... but hopefully i would get used to it asap... tc guys and galz... hear from me again...

Wud a poor thing when u are tired and yet your mother chases you out of your own room simply because she wants to watch drama vcds in my room, when there's another vcd player in the living room... sheesh... yawn... im so tired.
Went my grandma's house for dinner before proceeding to seng huat's birthday party at his house. Saw quite a few of my ex classmates... evelyn, sze han ... basically that's it... saw my jc crush as well... amy... still as pretty as ever... in fact even more so... saw eugene's gf for the first time and found her eyes similar to vivian hsu... pretty lass too. ate some food, played some drinking games before heading to the cake cutting ceremony, winson was the first to head back home... said he was feeling tired... sheesh... me fl cx and his gf stayed on longer, cuz mainly we wanted to play mahjong! Fl felt bored so he went home, leaving the 3 of us with seng huat... played 1 round and for the first time won money with cx's gf around... whew... in the end she gave me a lift home as well.... thanks alot...!
My Monday started around 3 pm when i woke up... used the comp until dinner time after which i met up with wins and fl for pool, Fl was feeling itchy as well after watching the pool competition, in the end we played around 2 1/2 hours... expensive sia... later on we headed to burger king for some food, realised that the Whopper meals are only going for $3.90 !!! It's to commemarate Singapore's 39th birthday... more then happy to eat the meal for such a price...
While we went on our separate ways later i went to jere's house for another mahjong session, once again, won some money again, thanks to whoever's up there... mahjong god in particular, for giving me some allowance to tide me over... wallet's being real tight these days...
another session perhaps tonight? maybe, maybe not... screwing up my nights...

Have been blogging about my trip to thailand that i forgot to post about recent happenings, monday to friday has basically been spent slacking around at home, mostly on my computer desk i should say... met up with jeremy and fuyuan on mon night and shared about our own experiences for the past week, jeremy about his NBS orientation, where he got the best freshie! i guess a nice bod doesnt count for anything i guess! ( joking la ).. fuyuan about his work... he's a office boy in his father's company, running errands all round, but i guess he would take over his dad's company some day...lucky guy.
met up with jere once more and we headed to monstercue to play pool, been itching to play cuz the whole week CH 24 was showing the Taiwan World Pool Championships... world class pool players pitting themselves again each other, only the factor of luck standing in their way, as their skill has reached an impeccable level... we played a total of 10 games where i was leading 5-0 until jere pulled off an comeback until it was 5-4, but i won the last game after some amazing play hee... sounds like im so good haha... nah... i suck. Had prata for supper at the S'pore Food Festival, just opposite Orchard Plaza... yum...
Met up with him in town again on friday afternoon cuz i wanted to cash in my standard chartered cheque from DKNY, ate our lucky chicken rice again, and went shopping at taka... tried on some clothes but haiz no money to buy. watched King arthur later after which we went to val's chalet for mj... won some money... lucky...
Went to James's 21st Bday celebration at his chalet the next day... saw many of my sec sch mates which i nv saw for very long, they had the same sentiments, cuz they had many comments about my hair... ah bengish and stuff... but still looks good rite! haha... we made a video for him, it's like an interview where we answer questions about him, stuff like would ya risk ur life for him and stuff... think it's gonna be a funny video after some editing...
Anyway after his chalet i won't be thinking of opening one for my bday, cuz after the cake cutting he was sabo-ed and stuff , leftover desserts were poured all over him...so in the end the place got kinda dirty and sticky, and the girls cleaned up the place...
looks like im not gonna open a chalet for my bday, even if i do, i won't invite so many frens too... it's gonna be too chaotic!

hey peeps! here comes my sequel...
where did i left off? hmm oh... friday night clubbing. The next day, to put a long story short, was simply shopping again, at Pratunam Square... another cheap place. Anyway the main point of Saturday was clubbing again... this time in a negative way. That place seriously looks like MS from afar, there's a 7 eleven nearby too! That place looks nice, big, music sounds ok, so in we went, and once again, we can't find any dancefloor, only tables galore. We found a corner table, but this time we didnt open any bottle, only a few bottles of Heinekens... 2 to be exact. Basically, over there, u can only seriously enjoy urself only if u are a fucking thai. Cuz over there, all they play is Thai Techno. ( Thai-no in short, say it fast, so it ends up sounding a leetle like techno itself ) I seriously can't describe how the beat is, only that it goes very fast and has no regular rythm to go to. Nice English Songs remixed into something like not only sounds like shit, but taste like shit. Yea, my beer tasted like shit going along with that crapster music ringing in my skull. Well, some songs werent 'corrupted' but still, out of 20 songs, only 1 would be Pure. While we very occasionally danced to these ultra rare songs over there, the thais tend to stop dancing. Ha, i guess Thais and Singaporeans can't click in terms of each party's taste of music. Then i realise these ultra rare songs are respites from all the dancing which only the thais are doing. Well, from where my eyeballs could see we were the only tourists around...Anyway, Thais can't dance for shit. Not that i dance very well , but i think any average Beng in Singapore could beat them hands flat. Ha...
Me and Zz were just standing there dazed, waiting for time to pass that's all... special mention from the girls, they said our paces nv looked this glum since the first day of our trip... even our faces looked better while we were waiting for them to shop around and try on clothes... Luckily thai nightspots close at 2 am, if it closes at 3 like singapore, i swear i could have smashed that heineken bottle on my head. Err, on second thought, think i take that back.ha
Bought some snacks cuz all of us didnt intend to sleep when we went back the hotel and go for breakfast at 530 am...we did just dat but after the breakfast i was feeling so full and tired, i couldnt hold on any longer, but the girls just kept pestering us to play cards, Zz just simply showed them some magic tricks, i was the one who knocked out first where before long the rest conked out on our beds... 4 people on 2 beds... sheesh...
woke up, checked out the hotel, and proceeded to the airport...back to singapore...
Reached singapore and found singapore cooler... so u can imagine how hot thailand is...the only regret is i nv got to go to Chatuchat market... that place sells the cheapest stuff there... heard u can get anything there... a cute little Shihtzu puppy for 50 baht? ha
My last advice for people heading to Bangkok is... go with people who went there before, so u get cheated less. ha. And nv believe wud the tut tut driver says...
One quote me and zijun came up while we were gazing at the lift at Pratunam square : Life's just like a lift, it either goes up or down, nv stationary for long. haa..

Yo yo peeps... im backz from the Kingdom of Thailand! Bangkok to be exact... oh my... wud a great trip it was... travelling with friends...
was really looking forward to this trip after my work in DKNY was finished. Before the day of departure i went to victor's chalet at NSRCC... it was a very nice bungalow... fully air-coned, big tv... good facilities and stuff, me and my army frens were playing PS2 for the whole night until we woke up tomorrow morning for a game of basketball... as for me, i left and reached home around 430pm and started to finish up my packing of my luggage. Well, not really those rectangular ones, but a really large Oakley sling bag i got from thailand during my stint at Sai Yok Camp. It wasnt long enough till i had to leave home to go to the airport... took 53 there man... the whole trip was so damn bloody long. However once i reached, i was feeling really excited all of the sudden... my other frens were Zz, alicia, and zijun... shan't elaborate about the shopping at DFS and checking in haha, so off we went, in the comfort of Swissair. Of all the flights i've taken in my life, it was the best... for economy class the leg space was sufficient, plus there's a personal small screen in front of u... watched starsky and hutch on the flight but before it ended we already reached Bangkok. Had a small coach to bring us to our hotel, namely Asia Hotel... played some cards before we retired to our beds...
Next Morning. Thursday... our first full day of our trip. After breakfast in the hotel and looking on the map we made our way to this shopping centre called Mah Boon Krong... MBK in short... i would say that this HUMONGOUS, GIGANTIC structure spans a long distance and with only a day in your hands that's no possible way to finish shopping over there. I might even say it's bigger then Suntec city. Prices there are relatively ok, cheap enough, yes, and the girls went fucking crazy over the fucking cheap prices... things like shirts and bags wont exceed 9 sing in value... of course they are fake but u can really get nice designs... i got quite a few tops over there. But girls will be girls, shopaholics they are, they can spend a freaking long time in a small shop... one particular moment was at Tokyu square... it's like seiyu in singapore... the girls were casually shopping until they hit on the bra section... they were shocked that brands like wacoal and triumph were much much cheaper then singapore. Going gaga over 'sunglasses' weren't what me and zhizhong would understand. We thought they might take around 1/2 h or so... but after 1/2 h later we became restless, cuz we wanted to go to this four faced buddha shrine which is quite famous. So off we went in search of this shrine, leaving the girls to shop happily... once we stepped out of the shopping centre, a tut tut driver approached us... he introduced himself as Dang, so we asked him how to go 4 faced buddha. he said he knew how to go and said 200 baht to go there. Crazy shit, we are tourists, but 200 baht is simply too much to bear... we bargained till he agreed to bring us back to the hotel to put some stuff we already bought, and bring us to the shrine, and then back to MBK,all for 100 baht. but on one condition, he would bring both of us to this jewellery factory where once we shop there for 10-15 min, he would recieve a coupon where he can redeem gasoline for free... nice ppl as we were we just went, looked, saw and went out of that place. at last we headed to the shrine... we had to buy flowers, incense everything for 580 baht! so ex... but still, it's buddha... this kinda thing can't really bargain. Nice trick to pull off eh...Just hoping my wish would come true, no prizes for guessing wud i wished for.
We went back MBK at around 3, still early to meet the girls so we shopped around... went to the card shop where we supposed to meet at 4, the girls came at 440... said they were lost ha, and guess wud, they spent the whole time when we weren't around shopping for bras and panties. Wtf!! Both of them had 8k baht worth of undergarments... guess it's like a lifetimes worth of their underwear. Whew, spending so much on the first day... GIRLS...
At night, on a tut tut we went to this place with Tiger show ( i think it's Thai-girl Show ), a show where ladies do extraordinary stuff with their, ahem, C#nt. Paid 500 to go in, later finding out that we were cheated. Read on to find out why.
The next day we went to Siam Square, another shopping paradise, its mostly outdoor, so it's quite hot around, no air con and stuff lidat. The girls werent impressed with the prices there... think it's slightly more expensive then the things they found yday... later on while the girls were busy finding stuff they want me and zz went to a thai massage parlour... i suggested going for a try cuz i heard it's good, and indeed it was, an invigorating experience.
Didnt get much stuff there except for a pouch which i liked alot... later on we went back to our hotel, had a bath, dressed up, cuz we were going clubbing! hmm... clubbing in Thailand, wonder how's it gonna be. We went to this place called Patpong where there's a night market, got some nice tops there. Later as we walked on we found out the night spots over there were mainly a-gogo bars with Tiger shows. Wud made me feel i was cheated yday was that all pubs there were offering free entry to watch the Tiger show, we just had to get a drink which costs around 90 baht... crapster tut-tut driver who brought us to that place... 500 baht wasted just lidat man, and i was on a tight budget...that blardee tut-tut driver must have gotten some commission for bringing us there...
However Zz met this nice guy who told us that discos are not found here, it's over at this place called Hollywood square. Kinda like a Boat Quay of some sort. It was raining that day and it kinda dampened our spirits, but once we reached there on a taxi we were feeling so excited. Since the guy zz was talking to was recommending this place called Hollywood we approached the entrance . Greeted by a lady, we were told we could open a bottle and gain entry into the club... Johnnie Walker red label for 1500 Baht... sounds a good deal to me. But as our birth dates were being checked zijun had her bad checked, she had a blurred photocopy of her passport for id purposes. The guy took out her real passport and found out that she was only 19, and simply refused to let us in. At Thailand it's super strict, only 20 years and above do clubs let in. Zijun felt so bad but we simply won't leave without enjoying the night... thus we went to another one called Dancing Fever. Sounds good, but this time Zijun's passport was in Zz's pocket. Wud made us more excited was that this place offers cheaper drinks. Red Label at 700 baht, and CHIVAS AT 1200 bahT!! I quickly psycho the others to get the chivas since it's good stuff and its cheaper then Hollywood somemore... This time all of us were able to get in. Inside we saw a big stage with a live band performance. It was a mix of Thai and English songs, and the performance was great. Wud puzzled me was the lack of a dance floor, but i soon realised that dancing can be done anywhere around the tables. And going to toilet can be such a hassle. Why do i say that? Tourists like us, once entering the toilets, would be approached by the people working there... while u are pee-ing at the urinal one guy behind u would massage u and stuff... and i was feeling so weird, couldn pee finish. Then after washing my hands i was cornered by all of them... asking for tips and stuff... i took out my wallet and the smallest note which i saw was a 100 baht note, gave it to them to avoid trouble... 6 men cornering u in the toilet! haiz... see me nice to bully lar! I got back to my table and i was feeling so pissed off! Firstly i had a 20 baht note in my wallet which i didnt see ( which i could have used as a smaller tip), and secondly, it was the most expensive toilet trip i had in my entire life. 4.60 sing dollars for a toilet trip. Shan't comment further more...
What's more surprising was that our group were approached by a group of Thais... they spoke abit of english so we could understand them, but one girl in their group who didnt know any was like hugging me man! firstly i dun understand wud the fuck that lady was saying... secondly, she was getting too touchy on me. I was feeling abit scared by then ( but in singapore, i'll be playing along hahahaha, but it never happens in singapore anyway ) so i turned to ziyun for help... i asked her to pretend to be my girlfren so that the girl would stay away from me, but alicia, who was feeling so damn high by then, just kept saying no! no! they not together!, and i was saying YEs! yes! we together yes! In the end the lady stayed away from me at last... whew...think she had a drink too much anyway. Later on i was been approached again by a gay! fuck man, wud the hell's wrong with me man...! Maybe it's cuz im a tourist there so i got the attention of the thais... ha... if only clubbing in singapore was lidat man, been approached and stuff... haha...!
Went back hotel feeling Hi and Dry... :)
This blog is getting too detailed and draggy rite? this ends the first part of my trip... 2 more days to talk about actually... but i'll post this up for bored pple to read first haha.

Reminiscence.
I looked at my BMT photos, and suddenly i felt all fading memories beginning to wisp back till it seemed to happen days ago. I remember the time when i was anticipating my national service so eargerly, so eager to find out what's life as a soldier, what my friends who went in earlier then me experienced. I still recall the time when i was told to take out my ic in exchange for my 11B... never did i expect that only 2 years later that i was able to see that pink ic again... i was a gullible kid, still unaware of the trauma i was about to experience...
I was posted to BMT Sch 1 at Tekong, Echo Company Platoon 3, Section 2, Bed 7. Greeted with unfamilliar faces, yet similar in the sense that their faces showed feelings of uncertainty and doubt. Some faces i met during my sec school days and JC... so it was not that bad. However, i knew no one in my section... luckily they were a fun bunch and i was able to click with them. Everyone there is assigned a buddy, and mine was a slightly short guy called kenneth. He was a nice guy. Basically everyone's nice over there, except for this guy which i remembered. This guy called Wen Jing. He was an obnoxious piece, talks arrongantly and stuff. I think everyone didnt like him anyway... we gave him a good sabo-ing before our POP( passing out parade ).
Talking about life during BMT, i was slightly unnerved by the fact that new recruits had to be confined in the camp for three weeks. Not being able to see home for three weeks, plus the fact that the sergeants there were wacking us, plus the training that we are going thru for these weeks, was simply tormenting. So when Parents' Visiting Day came, i was SO SO SO SO SO missing my parents alot. The fact being i was sick these few days, down with stomach flu, didnt help much. Although i was happy to see them after 2 weeks, i saw my other mates munching happily on pizza, KFC, beef steak etc etc, while i had only Mac's chicken porridge . I was a having a slight fever then, and i was feeling so shitty that day... everyone was like chatting so happily with their girlfrens' and family while i had to lie on my bed and see the others enjoying themselves. i felt so fucking shitty man... my mum and dad was like argueing with my sergeant, saying why cant he let me book out go home and rest... he could only muster a sheepish smile and explained that only if the MO gave a MC for me i wasnt allowed to book out. Thus, i went to report sick after my parents went home... instead of giving me a MC to let me go home and rest, i was put into the sick bay and was given a intravenous drip. The MO said i lost too much fluids with all the diarroea and needed IV... innocent as i was, i simply agreed with him... if i didnt remember correctly i stayed there for a couple of hours before i was discharged... i was given some medicine and a light duty status. Haiz, then, i really just wanted to go home, no matter how sick i was...
So i had to tahan another week before our confinement officially ended... however, in that week we had to take our IPPT test. being wacked physically for 2 weeks, my muscles simply didnt listen to me anymore, i flunked my test... did only 4 pull ups which was not enough, failed my shuttle run ( !!!! ). Thus, i had to be confined the following saturday for remedial training... In total, i flunked my IPPT twice during my BMT, only passing on the third time. Imagine the feeling of relief that i felt after i passed ( and a silver award at that ). Cuz if u fail, u might have to retake your BMT all over again... I was SO scared it might happen to me, to take the entire BMT again... IT was so frightening...
Not forgetting our SOC ( standard obstacle course )... it is simply a torturous course to finish, first u have to finish a 700 m run after which u have to complete a set of obstacles... monkey bar... climbing up the low rope...etc etc. But it's not all... after the obstacles which u can hardly ever catch a breath, u have to finish a 600 m run before it's officially over. U have to finish my 10 minutes 30 seconds... for my standards now it is too easy a time to finish, but then, i was worried i would failed... i ran 10 min 10 s... Phew... cuz if u fail, have to retake BMT... yea... sucks rite... BMT.
It's like everything i've said is already more than enough to make life in BMT is sucky enough. However, they are just icing to the cake! How can i ever, ever forget the field camp which lasted 10 days? How can i ever forget the 3 days Sit. test which is just a mini field camp? ( 13 Days outfield!!!! ) I think about it and i shudder. I seriously dunno how the fuck did i go through that period. Falling sick at the last few days of my field camp didnt help either... my section commander said i didnt perform well in the section movement and stuff... PLs LOR! i am sick enough already... of course i cant perform well la! and after the field camp my section mates were like looking at me with a different light... haiz... i dunno la...
The last strawberry to the cake was the route marches... with full battle order we had to march a long long road... it started progressively with 3 km... 5 km... 8 km... 16 km... until on our POP it was a 24 click route march... quite jialat la...
After our POP we had a 1 week long block leave, after which the following sat we went back to the ferry terminal where would take the fast craft to tekong. Over there we would know where we gonna be posted to... i thought i would be going SISPEC... never DID i realised to MY UTTer surprise that i was posted to 23SA, as a 155mm artillery gunner...........
And there ends my memories of my time as a recruit.... time flys real fast eh.

10 in the morning yet im still not washed up, ready for the day. Yesterday was the last day of my 1 week stint as a professional clothes-folder at DKNY... the feeling was so good man... dun have to report to work every morning.
Guess wud i woke up at around 845 am... was already restless on my bed unable to sleep further... guess my bio clock has been tuned nicely... sleeping early and waking early... that meant i didnt catch the czech-greece match last night which greece WON! Woke up and had a shock when i went to soccernet to check the results.my fav czechs fell to those stupid greeks... nedved was subbed off cuz of some injury i think... he's the inspiration for the whole team... if he's not there, the team's not there i guess.
Anywayz, feels so good that i can slack at home again. the 1 week has been so terrible but as jere put it... just do it for the money... then the time would pass beta. Dude, there's a limit of thinking about money all the time. To be listening to classical and/or jazz for 8-10 hours everyday...plus being not able to sit all the time, is to put it simply, fucked up. but i wonder how i passed my 3 months at Gio... ha. I keep telling myself that it's just sentry duty which u are getting paid for every hour, keep telling myself that there's air con and AT LEAST classical music to accompany me instead of wearing smart 4 sbo rifle and have to stand and perspirefor 2 hours. haiz, at least after the 2 hours of sentry duty u get to rest 4 hours. i dunno man, i getting confused. Civi life should be better then army life man!!! there shouldn be such a comparison... never... ARMY SUCKS.
Wud's over is over... the long 1 week is finally over man... dun have to think about it already... i'll be going bangkok next week anywayz to enjoy... won't be see-ing me around for the next week again i guess! but i'll be enjoying next week... not stoning on the floors of ISETan ...hee...
at least now i'm not thinking so much as now... everything's still going nicely for me i guess. when it's time to move on, it's time to move on ain't it, no use hanging on to loose grass...!
